Never have I seen such an amazing combination of so many different musicians of different genres come together. I’m certain that moments like these are far and few between. 502 played host to John Brown from Dawn of the Phoenix, Richard Evans from Rivers Want and Bitforce, Zack Ferris and Andrew Reynosa of Bad heart, Jaik Yanez, Brendon Yeich, Gareth Farr, Alan Miller, Kevin San Miguel, and many more. What could possibly bring together such a large variety of talented people? It’s the most powerful force in the universe: Love. The love for the great late superstar and phenomenon, David Bowie.
I have never seen 502 so packed full of such a diverse and passionate crowd. It’s easy to see how many lives David Bowie was able to touch with his performances. The evening began with videos of Bowie’s performances and music videos, while the crowd grew and grew. The tribute kicked off with Let’s Dance, and immediately had the crowd belting along and swaying to the music. Throughout the performance, leads and musicians were switched out between songs giving an in depth performance. It was amazing to see the performers come together as they might never have otherwise. Their interactions and explorations of each other’s talents became a celebration and communion of passionate souls honoring their idol.
